I've been reading online news about the alleged kidnapping incident involving a Senior Reporter of a known TV Network when I noticed the online comments posted just below the headline news posted by hardcore bloggers.Most of the comments that I read were full of hatred and condemnation, but not to the lawless perpetrators (ASG) but to the embattled reporter and her crew. Worst, most comments were even insinuating nasty jokes about rape (as in "pila-balde"). Other bloggers were insinuating a hate campaign against the TV network and the reporter (claiming that their arrogance got the bitter end of them) while others were insinuating that what happened to that lady reporter is just a payback time for the PNP and military since the lady reporter was known to condemn the Military and PNP for curtailing press freedom during the siege at Makati.
Is there any compassion and love left amongst people in this present society? How would one, despite the danger befacing the reporter and her crew and that instead of praying, opted to impute accusations to the hapless kidnapped reporter?
If these people could only knew how difficult it is for the victim's family who's in deep agony on the fate of their loved ones. I just hope that they will not be put on the same test as what the reporter and her crew is undergoing.
